Urban design award for The Rocks Laneway

The Rocks Laneway in Geraldton has received the Urban Design Award at the WA Australian Institute of Architects awards last week.

The project has been a catalyst for activation within the Geraldton City Centre, providing greater foreshore connections through the city grid and a series of spaces for community use, incorporated with public art.

“Since completion, the City has successfully adopted a Place Management Plan and Manager that to date has seen the Laneway hold 66 activities ranging from the Paperback Community Book Exchange, Wellness Days to an Electric Car Expo, enjoyed 12 changes of public art in the light boxes and brought an estimated 8,000 additional people into and through the CBD area. In just four and a half months the Rocks Laneway project has already had a transformational impact on activating the CBD.”  City of Greater Geraldton

A massive congratulations to TRCB, the City of Greater Geraldton and the entire project team.
