AILA Award for Fremantle Prison Heritage Landscapes Strategy
We’re proud to share that the Fremantle Prison Heritage Landscapes Strategy received a Landscape Architecture Award for Landscape Planning at the 2024 AILA WA Awards on Friday.
The strategy is a series of landscape-led design documents that plan for the continued revitalisation of the former prison. Designed to be implemented in stages that allow the prison to continue its status and function as a UNESCO World Heritage site, UDLA worked with the client and stakeholders to ensure that the landscape is leveraged as the driver for strengthened social, economic, and ecological outcomes.
Congratulations to the Fremantle Prison team at the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage, and our collaborators Griffiths Architects. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with you to deliver the future stages.
