Shea Hatch elected as AILA WA president
UDLA Project Director Shea Hatch was recently elected as president of the Western Australian chapter of AILA (Australian Institute of Landscape Architects).
Shea has been working in WA as a landscape architect for over 15 years, joining UDLA in 2016.
Having undertaken a Masters in Public Health as well as holding qualifications in landscape architecture, Shea is passionate about the role that landscape architects play in creating public realm that supports a happy and healthy community.
“I look forward to working together with the state executive, committees and membership to advocate for and raise the profile of landscape architects in Western Australia,” says Shea.
Shea will lead the Western Australian state executive alongside Belinda Foster of DBCA as Vice President and Nicholas Pierson of Place Laboratory as Secretary. General members of the executive are Jon Everett of Plan E, Giles Pickard of City of Canning, Melanie Bradley of Landplan Associates, and Christina Nicholson of UWA and Banksia & Lime.
Shea has maintained an active role with AILA throughout her career, and has been a state executive member since 2019.
Outgoing president Andrew Thomas, Director of Four Landscape Studio, retired after two terms in the role.
